Upgrading to Outlook 2000

Upgrading from Microsoft Schedule+ 1.0

You have the option to use either Microsoft Schedule+ or the Microsoft Outlook 2000 native Calendar as your calendar client.

Outlook 2000 includes all the features of Schedule+ 1.0 such as appointments, events, contacts, and tasks. Outlook also provides the following features that are not available in Schedule+ 1.0:

  • Integrated e-mail functions with contact, journal, and note items
  • Additional views for calendar, contact, and task information
  • Advanced custom view capabilities
  • Task delegation
  • Advanced printing options

Except for changes in the user interface and other features, you can continue working with your calendar and task information in the same way that you work with Schedule+ 1.0. You can also freely exchange group scheduling information with Schedule+ 1.0 users. However, when Outlook 2000 and Schedule+ 1.0 share information, Outlook uses Schedule+ 95 to read and interpret Schedule+ 1.0 data.

To upgrade, install Outlook 2000, and then import the Schedule+ 1.0 data (CAL) file. Schedule+ is not removed from your computer.

Toolbox   The Microsoft Office Resource Kit for Office 97/98 provides additional information and procedures for importing the Schedule+ 1.0 data file. This archive edition is included in its entirety in the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit. For more information, see Microsoft Office Resource Kit for Office 97/98.
